Time For One Outcry From All Humankind

Our synagogue mourns with all Israel and all civilized humanity the deaths of the three Israeli teenagers found dead today outside Hebron. For any who would seek to spin the murder-kidnapping nature of this recent child-slaughter: the civilized world must rise with its voice and with its strengths to make clear for all time – there can be no justification of kidnapping and murder of adolescent civilians of ANY nationality or race.No officials or governments should be allowed to call such crimes "heroism" or "patriotism" without being exiled from the civilized world and all its benefits and resources. The world can never agree with, nor tolerate the slightest suggestion that there is any iota of "heroism" in kidnapping, torturing, and murdering unarmed civilian teenagers. The kidnapping, torture, and murder of civilians anywhere at any time is nothing other than kidnapping, torture, and murder in the first degree.It is time for the world to rise up with one voice and say one thing: such acts are never excusable just because the victims happen to be Jews - or any nationality. And - for the record - these three boys' grandparents generation lived being visited with similar random acts of horror in their lands of exile: they were not "safe" because they happened not to live in the Israel; and these three boys deaths are not justifiable because they happened to live in Israel. The existence of controversy over Israel's existence is not what killed them. There are people of good will on both sides of the Israeli/Arab questions who do not go around kidnapping and murdering children on the way to and from school.These three boys are dead because barbarian murderers killed them. Not heroes - not patriots: barbarian murderers. Unless the people of France, Britain, Russia, or elsewhere are prepared to deem acceptable as political zealotry the barbarian, random kidnapping and murdering their civilian children going to and from school – then Hamas and its affiliates must be sent a message that teaches them "Never again" is not a phrase only chanted by Jews on Yom HaShoah.May Heaven send civilized governments all through the world wisdom for this time: and may Heaven also send every Muslim fasting during this Ramadan truth that creates iron resolve only to use honorable paths for seeking what their hearts desire. Shalom al-kol Yisrael – Ramadan Kareem wa-Mubarak.
